FaxiDraw - Foldable Drawing Plotter
FaxiDraw is a foldable drawing plotter I built around 3D-printed parts, open hardware, and a very simple motivation: I wanted a machine that could turn digital paths into real pen movement without needing a large CNC-style setup.
It is one of those projects that looks playful from the outside, but quickly becomes very technical once you start tuning it. A plotter needs smooth motion, enough rigidity, repeatable positioning, and mechanical parts that do not flex too much when the pen touches the paper. Making it foldable adds another layer of compromise between portability and stability.
What I like about FaxiDraw is that it sits somewhere between art tool and engineering exercise. It is not a machine built for industrial production; it is a machine built to explore motion, fabrication, and the satisfaction of watching code become a physical trace on paper.
This project also represents a part of my work that I enjoy a lot: combining electronics, mechanics, firmware, and printed parts into something you can actually put on a table and use. The output is visual, but the fun is in all the small technical details behind it.
